ABOUT TREVOR MAXWELL

Trevor Maxwell, 48, has been living with stage IV colon cancer since March of 2018. He has undergone seven major surgeries, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and a clinical trial. He lives in Maine with his wife and two teenage daughters.

Trevor has a background in journalism, communications, and public relations. He worked as a reporter for daily newspapers from 1998 to 2011. He then launched Maxwell Media and PR, working as a communications consultant across a wide range of industries. Trevor founded Man Up to Cancer in January of 2020, as a purpose-driven company and support community for men impacted by cancer. That original mission evolved into Man up to Cancer becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2024, with more than 3,000 members across North America and beyond.

As a journalist, Trevor was the recipient of more than 20 state, regional, and national writing awards. As a patient leader, he has received the Annette Cook Cancer Warrior Award, presented by the WunderGlo Foundation; and the Amanda Dempsey Award, presented by the Dempsey Center.
