VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES – SPECIFIC OPENINGS
These roles are open to the general public as well as the Man Up to Cancer community, and will average about 2-3 hours minimum per week, possibly more depending on your availability and interest. Grassroots fundraising assistant
Help support our mission to ensure no man fights cancer alone. You would support our fundraising director in the planning and execution of grassroots fundraising strategies, with a goal for 2025 to raise $160k to support our retreats, backpack program, and local chapters.
Examples of potential tasks:
Assist with donor outreach
Help tell stories about the impact of MUTC, to build into donor communications
Help community members or others organize local fundraising events
Use existing materials created by MUTC to apply for a wide range of grants
Support social media fundraising efforts
Cancer industry fundraising assistant
Man Up to Cancer has 10+ pharmaceutical and cancer diagnostics companies providing sponsorships or grants this year. We need help managing these relationships and making sure MUTC provides the benefits that we promised to the companies.
Examples of potential tasks:
Making sure their brochures get to Joe Bullock for the backpack program
Making sure their brochures and promotional items get to the GOW retreat in Sept.
Scheduling Zoom sessions for their staffers to connect with our community, and promoting the sessions to our members
Meeting with the advocacy teams at the companies with us, to ensure that we are being a valuable partner
Digital marketing specialist
We have a small contract with a digital marketing company, with a goal of improving our “findability” online, using SEO optimization and PPC ads. We are looking for someone with some digital marketing experience to be the liaison between MUTC leaders and the marketing company.
Examples of potential tasks:
Attending monthly results and planning sessions with Bend, and reporting back to the MUTC leadership team
Brainstorming ideas with the Bend team
Helping with copywriting/editing for blog posts and website pages for SEO, under the guidance of Hope Alcocer, digital content manager
Working with members of the MUTC leadership team to gather information needed by Bend
Merch manager
In our humble opinion, Man Up to Cancer has the coolest swag in cancerland! We seek a dedicated individual to take our merch to the next level by managing our online shop. This role requires basic ecommerce skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team.
Responsibilities:
Manage and update the online store
Oversee Printful integration for product fulfillment
Ensure smooth transactions via Stripe
Monitor inventory, pricing, and product listings.
Respond to customer inquiries
Our store is on our Squarespace website, and connects to Printful as our third party drop shipper, and to Stripe for payments.
Assistant Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
We seek a CPA to assist our primary CPA and board member, Joe Catarineau.
We want to ensure our organization operates with the highest standards of financial integrity. A backup CPA would assist Joe with tax filings and other key documents as needed. Experience working with nonprofit organizations is preferred, though not required.
