Q: The Man Up to Cancer motto is OPEN HEART, WARRIOR SPIRIT. Which side of your personality could use more growth?

A: My heart, I'm fighting everyday to survive but sometimes I find myself noticing my heart feels disconnected from the world. Almost like I'm closed off and numb to it all.

Q: What are your top tools for coping with the psychological impacts of cancer (i.e. anxiety, depression, anger, isolation, etc.)?

A: My tools are therapy and seeing a therapist often, using things I love to help me escape everything and allow my mind to reset and refocus, also friends that get it and understand what we are going through.

Q: What’s one thing you know now, but wish you had learned earlier in the journey?

A: There are people who care out there and want to help you. There are friendships that can change your life out there and cancer doesn't mean you can’t experience that.

Q: If you could pick a “handle” for your wolf identity, what would it be, and why?

A. Solo. First because Han Solo is the best and because, like him, I spent much of the beginning years of my journey alone, thinking I could do it all myself, that I didn't need any organization or help, and that I was a rebel doing it alone. But I longed for connections and I needed this place and help to help me achieve what I was meant to be doing.
