Man Up to Cancer Welcomes Matt Kozlovac as Inaugural Executive Director

The board of directors of Man Up to Cancer is proud to announce Matt Kozlovac as our inaugural executive director, marking a significant milestone for our organization!
Matt is a seasoned leader and fundraiser with more than a decade of experience in the non-profit space. Most recently, he served as a senior director of regional corporate relations for the American Cancer Society. Matt was hired by Man Up to Cancer after a national search that drew nearly 300 applicants, and he will join the organization full time on July 1. A native of western Pennsylvania, Matt lives in Pittsburgh with his wife and daughter.
Matt takes the helm as Man Up to Cancer continues to emerge as a leading support community for men impacted by cancer. Since its inception in 2020, the organization has grown from a grassroots peer support network into a movement that includes in-person retreats, a backpack program for men in cancer treatment, and more than 40 local chapters across North America and beyond.
Known for a strategic yet deeply empathetic approach, Matt has successfully led development initiatives that have significantly expanded community impact and strengthened long-term partnerships at American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (Pennsylvania). His expertise spans major gift cultivation, corporate and foundation relations, and team development, with a proven track record of exceeding fundraising goals and nurturing mission-driven cultures.
Matt holds a master’s in international development from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh, in addition to two bachelor’s degrees from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Outside of work, Matt is passionate about his family, music, and golf. When he is not on long walks with his wife, daughter, and their family dog, Fleetwood, you can find him playing music in any one of his many projects.
The MUTC board of directors was incredibly impressed with Matt's fundraising experience, thoughtfulness, intellect, and his deep understanding and respect for our mission. We are confident that he has the skills and personality to lead Man Up to Cancer into our next chapter.
The board also wants to thank Joe Bullock for serving as interim executive director. From mid-March through the end of June, Joe oversaw the leadership team, volunteers, and day-to-day operations of the organization as we carried out the process of hiring a permanent executive director.
