Meet Matt Kozlovac, Man Up to Cancer’s New Executive Director

What are you most excited about in joining the MUTC team?

Man Up to Cancer began as a grassroots Facebook community, and thanks to Trevor and the team’s dedication, it has grown into a powerful national movement with incredible momentum. I’m thrilled to be joining this mission-driven team and contributing in any way I can. We've seen firsthand the profound impact our work has on men facing cancer and their families. We also know there are so many more men out there who need our support — and I’m committed to reaching them and continuing to grow this incredible community.

What is your connection to the cancer community—caregiver, survivor, advocate, etc.?

Cancer is personal for me. Like so many families, mine has been deeply affected — we've lost loved ones, supported others through treatment, and made prevention and early detection a priority in our lives. With 1 in 2 people impacted by cancer, stories like ours are far too common.

Professionally, I spent four years with the American Cancer Society, building partnerships to improve the lives of those affected by this disease. That experience, combined with my personal connection, fuels my passion and commitment to this work every single day.

Tell us about your family!

I’ve been happily married to my amazing wife, Matea, for nearly ten years. We have a five-year-old daughter, Maja, who’s my best friend and brings so much joy to our lives. Rounding out our family is Fleetwood, our lovable (and sometimes wild) Bernese Mountain Dog, who definitely keeps us on our toes.

Help us with your last name—how do we pronounce it?

Kozlovac is a surname from Yugoslavia — pronounced Ca-Slav-ick. My friends call me Koz.
