Q: The Man Up to Cancer motto is OPEN HEART, WARRIOR SPIRIT. Which side of your personality could use more growth?
A. In accepting help from others when I need it. I have always been the strong person that helps others and find it difficult (ego and pride) to depend on others.
Q: What are your top tools for coping with the psychological impacts of cancer (i.e. anxiety, depression, anger, isolation, etc.)?
A. Although there are days nothing works, I stay grounded by praying and my faith in God. To reduce stress and anxiety I stay physical as best as possible by riding my bicycle, weightlifting and playing sports. In telling my story to others I self realize my strength and reminds me that I can continue plus it feels good to help others cope with their doubt and fears.
Q: If you could pick a “handle” for your wolf identity, what would it be, and why?
A. Alpha...it reminds me to lead, to be strong, to help others.
