GOW Videos: Inside tour of the largest men’s cancer retreat ever held!

The GOW retreat videos are here!

Sit by the campfire, ride the zipline, and cannonball into the pool with us on this insider's tour of the Gathering of Wolves, the largest men's cancer retreat ever held.

The leadership team of Man Up to Cancer wishes to thank you — our supporters, donors, and sponsors — for helping bring this retreat to life!

About 150 members of Man Up to Cancer converged in eastern Pennsylvania Sept. 5-8 2024 for the third annual Gathering of Wolves retreat. These videos, filmed and produced by cancer survivor David Rawson of Kennebunk, Maine, document the retreat and show you what our organization is all about.

The men who attend the GOW are patients and survivors from all types of cancer. They come from all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. Some of them are nearing the end of their lives. We are honored by their presence, love, and courage.

If there is a man in your life impacted by cancer, and you think he could benefit by joining us next year at GOW2025, connect us via email at retreat@manuptocancer.org. All costs at the retreat are covered by donations and sponsorships.

We have a 3-minute video (see above), a 6-minute video (see below), and eight video testimonials from men who attended the retreat. Click here to check out those videos on our GOW testimonials page on our website.

We want to thank the amazing team at Pocono Springs Camp in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; our lead planner Jay Abramovitch of South Mountain, Ontario; and the planning committee of Steven Barker of Memphis, Tenn., Chris Taylor of Albany, Ga., Tim McDonald of Tampa, Fla., Chuck Aiken of Glens Falls, N.Y., Chris Berberabe of Port Washington, N.Y.; and the family and friends who donated in memory of Lee Silverstein, a beloved member of Man Up to Cancer who died in February after living with cancer for more than 12 years.

Big thanks to our corporate sponsors Sanofi, Pfizer, Natera, Guardant Health, Bayer, Daiichi-Sankyo, and Servier; and our non-profit sponsors Fight Colorectal Cancer, Colon Cancer Coalition, and the American Association for Cancer Research.

For a heartfelt overview of the retreat, please check out this piece of writing by Tim McDonald. Tim is a stage IV colon cancer survivor and a top volunteer for Man Up to Cancer, including serving as the leader of the thriving Florida chapter. We are all sending best wishes to our friends in Florida, North Carolina, and all the areas hit by hurricanes Helene and Milton.

If you work in a company or organization that would consider sponsoring or providing in-kind donations for GOW2025, please reach out to us at info@manuptocancer.org.
